The Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially postponed a scheduled hearing for former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
The former Gender Minister was expected to appear before the committee on Monday, April 7, 2025, following an invitation dated March 24, 2025.
She had been summoned over alleged misconduct, specifically for breaching a party directive that prohibits public statements likely to cause disaffection or division within the party ranks.
However, in a letter issued on Sunday, April 6, the committee announced a change in plans, stating:
“Further to our earlier correspondence… inviting you to appear before the Disciplinary Committee… we wish to notify you that the said hearing has formally been postponed.”
The committee cited “emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations” as the reason for the postponement.
Although a new date has not been set, the party assured that the matter will be addressed in due course. The development comes at a time when the NPP is tightening internal cohesion ahead of key political activities, including the upcoming general elections.
Sarah Adwoa Safo, who has previously faced scrutiny over her parliamentary attendance and recent public commentary, remains a figure of both influence and controversy within the party. Her case is seen as a test of the NPP’s commitment to enforcing party discipline without sidelining prominent figures.
