In a blistering attack, Alhaji Said Sinare, National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lambasted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for what he described as the mishandling of Zongo developmental projects.
Addressing the media on Friday, August 9, 2024, Alhaji Sinare argued that the NDC left transformative legacies in the Zongo communities, asserting that the Vice President would be disqualified from contesting any election if he attempted to challenge the successes of former President John Dramani Mahama in these communities.
The former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia excoriated Dr. Bawumia for perpetuating hardship in Zongo communities despite the acquisition of a GH¢100 million investment fund intended for development. He called for a full investigation into the use of the funds.
“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia should account to us what they used the GH¢100 million investment fund intended to develop the Zongos for,” he said.
Furthermore, Alhaji Sinare claimed that the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry was cynically established to reward party loyalists and exploit Zongo communities, rather than genuinely uplifting them.
