Report says the committee passed the ruling on Monday, 25th January 2021, after they held a meeting to deliberate on the lifting of the suspension of Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, the party’s decision stems from the role he played in just ended 2020 general election. Mr Kwabena Agyepong was seen campaigning vigorously for candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo around the country in a bid to ensuring a second term victory for the NPP party on 7th December 2020.

Mr. Agyepong is now free to contest any position in the NPP party, however he would not be reinstated as there is a substantive acting general secretary, in the person of John Boadu.
