Former Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has issued a passionate call to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging its members to rise above the disappointment of their 2024 electoral defeat and set their sights firmly on victory in 2028.
Speaking at a meeting with constituency organizers from the Greater Accra Region at his residence, Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for the party to stop feeling sorry for itself and instead channel its energy into rebuilding and reorganizing.
“Political parties win or lose elections. Yes, we have lost an election. But I know we can come back. So, we should stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Let’s pick ourselves up, reorganise, and go forward as one,” he declared, reaffirming his confidence in the NPP’s ability to win back public trust.
During the meeting, constituency organizers also voiced their desire for clearer recognition of their roles within the party’s constitution, proposing amendments to strengthen their position as the NPP charts its course for a political comeback.
