Reminding Ghanaians on how much President Akufo-Addo led NPP government lost to corruption last year, Mr. Kotoko asked:

“Is President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo [and his NPP government] aware how wide they have drifted from one of the cardinal goals on which their 2016 campaign survived?”

According to Mr. Kotoko, “Unsubstantiated corruption tag against his predecessor [NDC’s John Mahama] was so vile many believed without hesitation”

“Corruption is now rather an established institution under the man how vowed to use the “Anas Aremeyaw Anas principle” with over Gh¢9.6bn lost to ”The Corruption Institute” in just three (3) years.” – he added

For him, “No Ghanaian would like to give such a government another four more years. All things being equal, that will be agreeing to sign off an other Gh¢10bn or more to corruption”

If readers can recall, the Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) revealed that GHc9.6 billion has been lost to public sector corruption under the watch of the Akufo-Addo-led government since 2017.

The Executive Director of CDD-Ghana, Professor Henry Kwasi Prempeh, who was appalled at this development lamented: “Weak governance and corruption hurt every nation, and the poor are often the hardest hit”.

He continued: “Over the years, Ghana has lost a great fortune to corruption, and since its inception in November 2017, Corruption Watch alone has discovered 9.6 billion Ghana cedis stolen from the public purse”.

“Everyone here – every individual and every organization has an obligation to act with integrity, expose corrupt practices, and more importantly, help retrieve funds that have been embezzled, Prof Prempeh stated at the premiering of an anti-corruption documentary in Accra.” – he added
