The Chief Editor of UN News, Ben Dotsei Malor has added his voice to the ongoing debates over former President Kufour’s claim that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah must be blamed for Ghana’s current woes.
According to former President Kufour, Ghana’s first President had no vision and plan for the nation after the country gaining independence but rather rashed into industrialization.
Mr. Kufour whiles responding to the ongoing youth agitation under the social media campaign #FixTheCountry has also said the impression should not be created as though Ghana was built and someone else came to destroy it.
Many Ghanaians have taken to social media to disagree with the assertion of the former President whiles touting Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s achievement during his nine years rule as the President of Ghana until he was overthrown.
The former President Mahama’s Communication Adviser also added his voice.
According to him, the African of The Millennium, “This man was fully in charge of newly independent Ghana for under nine years (March 6th 1957 – 24th February 1966). This man built Ghana. Was he perfect? NO. Was he a “god”? Definitely NOT.”
He further stressed that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah irrespective of the numerous projects he undertook during his era “Today, there is no mansion, no piece(s) of land or properties, and no hefty foreign bank accounts that bear the name of this selfless, bold, and visionary Pan-Africanist leader.”
For him, Dr. Nkrumah absolutely meant and did well for Ghana.
“Did he mean well? ABSOLUTELY YES. Did he give it his all? Absolutely YES.” – he said in a Facebook post sighted by Awake News.
KWAME NKRUMAH – THE AFRICAN OF THE MILLENNIUM: This man was fully in charge of newly independent Ghana for under nine years (March 6th 1957 – 24th February 1966). This man built Ghana. Was he perfect? NO. Was he a “god”? Definitely NOT.
Did he mean well? ABSOLUTELY YES. Did he give it his all? Absolutely YES. Today, there is no mansion, no piece(s) of land or properties, and no hefty foreign bank accounts that bear the name of this selfless, bold, and visionary Pan-Africanist leader.
PLEASE, take a moment and consider this list of institutions, industries, and entities that this man built or created – from the page of Abdul Hameed. MAY ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS HIS SOUL. MAY WE LEARN. MAY WE LEARN. MAY WE LEARN … AND DO THE RIGHT THING.
