The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, has appointed the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to replace embattled former First Vice Chairman Kwesi Nyantakyi.

[ads1]The former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) resigned from his position a few days after he was captured in an investigative film engaging in underhand dealings.

He mentioned the name of the president, vice president and some government officials in the said video. President Nana Akufo-Addo has since reported him to the police for action.

Mr Nyantakyi was suspended by the global football-governing body, FIFA, after the investigative film was premiered.

On Thursday, CAF reported that its president has appointed Amaju Melvin Pinnick, following Mr Nyantakyi’s resignation.

The Malagasy made the decision after consulting the members of the Emergency Committee of CAF.

The move is in accordance with Article 27 (2) of the statutes of the continent’s sport governing body.

The decision is expected to “be ratified by the Executive Committee in its session scheduled on the 27 and 28 of September 2018”.
