In a message shortly after Dr. Oko’s release, he said “We have forgiven the kidnappers and will not give up working for victory over kidnapping.”

The 2012 Africa Peace Award winner, however, bemoaned the killing of their kidnappers saying the needed a second chance to “come to self realization that kidnapping is evil”.

“….Yet, the approach of killing the kidnappers is not the best approach. They need to be forgiven and core issues addressed until they come to self realization that kidnapping is evil. Beyond the individual victory over the kidnappers, there is the greater task of rescuing the over 7billion of the world who have all been kidnapped by Satan without knowing.” – Dr. Oko said

This is to inform all that by the special grace of our Heavenly Parent, the prayers and support of brothers and sisters around the world and the mobilization of several organizations, Ambassadors for Peace and both spiritual and physical family members, we were released late yesterday by the deadly kidnappers who held us hostage since Saturday night.

It was a miracle of miracles that we could even have access to my phone to send out the initial message after the phone was collected by them. It is the grace of God, our Heavenly Parent, the good spirit world and the hard work of men and women around the world that our release was secured. I am personally grateful to all for the prayers including the police and other security agencies that worked for our lives to be safe today.

We got home about 2am this morning after trekking for over 6 hours from the forest to a village that the Police received us. At the appropriate time, we shall share our experiences and lessons learnt to help overcome the increasing cases of kidnapping in Nigeria.

We have forgiven the kidnappers and will not give up working for victory over kidnapping. Yet, the approach of killing the kidnappers is not the best approach. They need to be forgiven and core issues addressed until they come to self realization that kidnapping is evil. Beyond the individual victory over the kidnappers, there is the greater task of rescuing the over 7billion of the world who have all been kidnapped by Satan without knowing. Once again, thanks to all and I will continue to work hard to pay back the debts incurred in securing our release
