Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed his joy towards the 2025 African Cup of Nations as he is optimistic that the chances of Ghana qualifying to the tournament in Morocco is on cause.
He remarked that Angola beating Niger 2-0 paves a clear way for Ghana to qualify. Ghana’s goalless draw with Sudan on October 10th dented the hopes of qualifying to Morocco.
However, speaking in a pre-game interview with GFA media Otto Addo said, “I think it was good Angola won. If Niger would have won and would have been past us (with four points) that would have been bad I think and now the situation is still in our hands. We need to win this very match tomorrow and once we are second…I think it’s still in our own hands and this is what we are looking for. so we are looking for tomorrow’s win and then we will be back on track.”
“I’m sure that, like I said, if we show the same attitude towards this game, the same beliefs, we have to be mentally strong, then I’m very sure we will win this game. The last game gives me really big confidence that we can do it,” he added.
The match is scheduled to be played today Tuesday, October 15 in Libya. The match is set to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
