Folks, let me first thank the Ghana Police Service led by Dr. Akuffo Dampare for at least, 2021 December 31st Night has passed without Ghanaians being bombarded with “God revealing” to people who called themselves Prophets listing the number of prominent people that will die in 2022.
This sanity can firstly be attributed greatly to the current IGP’s activation of Section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) on which Dancehall Artiste, Shatta Wale, and Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah of New Life Kingdom Chapel, known as Jesus Ahuofe were arrested and arraigned before the court over alleged fake news publication.
The second should be attributed to the statement issued by the Ghana Police reminding church leaders to be circumspect in their “death, accident and harm” prophecies that normally characterize their 31st December Night Services.
Reacting to the Police caution, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, Founder and Leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel called the bluff of the Police Service saying only cowards will not prophesy the way they do on the 31st December Night because of the caution from the police to activate Section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29).
However, and sadly, Nigel Gaisie in a crowdies manner in his 31st December 2021 Night said “I am not prophesying for the people or the nation of Ghana but the people and a nation called Umuofia”
He continued to use the name “Umuofia” to represent Ghana; “CND” to represent NDC; “Nebuchadnezzar” to represent President Akufo-Addo and “Dog” to represent the Ghana Police or the IGP.
The comic part of his use of metaphor thinking is a “smart” way to avert any legal implications of using the real name but had forgotten and mentioned “Ashanti Region” and “Northern Regions” as part of territories under his “Umuofia” nation.
This behavior is enough to inform right thinking people in society that these so-called Prophets through their so-called prophecies on live TVs do so only to draw attention to themselves to help their “church” businesses grow. They make those predictions so, in the likely event that some of them truly happened, the population will pour in their churches on the belief that they have the powers to see tomorrow.
If Nigel Gaisie was not a coward like he stated, he should have actually mentioned the real names of the country, people, and things he was saying will happen in 2022 and 2024.
