Ghana’s National Insurance Commission (NIC) has inaugurated a new seven-member Governing Board to strengthen regulation and improve transparency in the sector.
Mr. Christopher Boadi-Mensah will chair the board. Other members include Dr. Abiba Zakariah from NIC, Mr. David Klotey Collison from the Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Emmanuel Amofa from the Ghana Bar Association. Mr. Mathew Kwaku Atta Aidoo, Ms. Jean-Marie Formadi, and Mr. Simon Akibange Aworigo also serve on the board.
The Deputy Finance Minister, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, swore them in on behalf of Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. He urged the board to drive reforms and improve public trust in insurance.
Mr. Boadi-Mensah thanked the President and the Finance Ministry for the opportunity. He promised to strengthen regulation, raise standards, and work closely with stakeholders.
The board aims to expand access to insurance, especially in underserved areas, and promote innovation and compliance in the industry.
