The potential return of Neymar Jr. to Barcelona has been a topic of discussion for several years, but recent developments suggest that it could become a reality.

Barcelona has long been seeking a quality left winger, and although their attempt to sign Nico Williams fell through, they managed to bring in Dani Olmo last summer.

However, reports indicate that their interest in Olmo has cooled, and they are now looking at other potential targets, including AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, both of whom are reportedly open to making the move.

Despite these options, Neymar remains a strong contender for a return, according to his agent, Andre Cury, who has close ties to Barcelona.

Cury stated on RAC1 that Neymar, who he believes should never have left Barcelona, would be eager to return if given the chance.

He added that Neymar’s return to the club is feasible if Barcelona decides to pursue it.

Barcelona has also been keeping an eye on Francisco Trincão’s situation, as the young winger is having a standout season with Sporting CP in Portugal, with nine goals and 13 assists.

Barcelona holds a buy option for the player and would receive 50% of any future sale profit.

Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly interested in him, but Barcelona remains keen on his potential return.

As for Neymar, Barcelona has reportedly set a challenge for him if he wishes to come back to La Liga: score 15 goals for Santos, and then they will consider signing him.

This message highlights the club’s belief that Neymar still has some way to go before returning to his peak form.

Since his return to Santos, Neymar has scored three goals and provided three assists in seven games.

His current contract with the Brazilian club runs until the summer, and given Barcelona’s current salary cap issues, the possibility of signing Neymar for free could be a decisive factor in any potential deal.

However, Neymar’s recent injury struggles, primarily due to a cruciate ligament issue, have limited his playing time in the past two years.

He has played little more than 20 games in 2023 and 2024, raising concerns about his long-term fitness and ability to deliver at the highest level.

Despite these setbacks, Neymar’s return to Barcelona remains a story that continues to capture attention.
