The donation by the Presidential hopeful was made to the affected persons in Mepe, Sogakope and one other township in the Volta Region to be shared among displaced persons.

The items included bags of rice, bags of Maize, bags of corn and cassava dough, box of Mosquito coil, toiletries and a truckload of Mineral water, as part of the New Vision Movement’s efforts to provide relief items to the affected persons.

Speaking after the donation, Mr. Koranteng who is the founder and leader of the New Vision Movement stated that the donation was to empathise and share in the pains of the persons affected by the spillage.

According to him, the devastating impact of the dam spillage has drastically affected lives and livelihoods of people in the communities hence the donation.

He urged the chiefs and people to hold the government and the people in authority responsible for the disaster adding that the disaster could have been avoided if the past and present government have done the needful.

He called on the Torgbe Mankralo to urge the people of Volta region to change their voting pattern by voting for his New Vision Movement as he is the only candidate who has the country at heart.

He urged the people of the Volta Region not to be friendly to the National Democratic Congress NDC but rather vote for someone that will respect and care for the people and not to destroy properties and livelihood.

He said the affected people who were displaced will never recover their losses no matter the amount of donations and therefore called on the Chiefs and people of the Volta Region not to forget their pain but rather fight and make sure they hold the government and authorities responsible.

He assured the Chiefs and Elders that if given the mandate he will fix the situation for good adding that if there is 250 million to build a new Bank of Ghana building and a Cathedra while the same government can not raise money to build reservoir to save people’s properties was unacceptable and call for the need not to forget both past and present government.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the affected persons in Mepe the Mankralo, Torgbe Korsi Nego VI thanked
Mr. Kofi Koranteng for the kind gesture and wish him well in his political Carrier.
