Ghanaian singer Nero X says he’s not worried about winning big awards. For now, his focus is on making great music for his fans.

Despite being in the industry for over 10 years and earning several local and international awards, the Osey hitmaker has yet to win from top schemes like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). But that doesn’t bother him.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Nero X, real name Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng, said, “My priority is working for my fans. When the time is right, the awards will come. What matters most is the work.”

He also praised the current direction of Ghana’s creative industry, saying he’s hopeful about new government policies under President John Mahama’s leadership.

Nero X recently released a new song titled Low Key on March 29. He described it as a personal track reflecting his journey in the music scene.

“It’s about not giving up, working hard, making money, and staying grounded,” he explained. “I want my fans to know I’m still here and working, even if it’s ‘low key’.”
