John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed several support packages intended for businesses that would implement the 24-hour working system if the policy is rolled out.
Speaking at the launch of the party’s 2024 manifesto in Winneba on Saturday, August 24, former President Mahama outlined seven packages designed to help businesses operate under his 24-hour economy policy.
According to him, the much-touted policy will help create more jobs by allowing three people to share a single job, with each working an 8-hour shift.
Touching on some of the packages, Mr. Mahama stated that he would stimulate demand for 24-hour economy goods and services. He added that his government would make strategic investments in infrastructure, security, and energy to support the policy’s implementation.
The NDC presidential hopeful also emphasized that his government would provide affordable and reliable electricity, along with tax incentives for businesses that implement the 24-hour policy.
