The chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mr. Stephen Ofosu Agyare, has urged the party’s rank and file in the constituency to strengthen the its machinery at the branches so that the party can reorganise to capture power in the upcoming 2024 elections.
According to the digital chairman, he is targeting revitalising the branches to be battle-ready for the 2024 general elections.
He indicated that the victory of the NDC hinges on the activeness of the branches, and the reorganisation agenda of the party ought to strategically focus on strengthening the grassroots since elections are won at the polling stations within the branches.
Chairman Agyare stressed that it was imperative for the umbrella fraternity to mend the cracks and strengthen its local structures ahead of the 2024 elections because branches are the base of the party with the utterly tremendous mandate to circumvent and safeguard every single ballot at the polling stations, thus training and resourcing the grassroots, the surest way for the NDC’s electoral fortunes.
“As chairman, I’ve realised that most of our branches are very inactive, and I strongly believe pragmatic measures ought to be taken to revive them for the future.” Empowering the branch executives is the best due to their knowledge of local politics,” he said.
He admonished party members to strive for unity and togetherness, as a divided front is a bad element for winning the 2024 elections, adding that the NDC’s winning the next elections is nonnegotiable.
