The party’s chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, emphasized that the NDC requires certain conditions to be fulfilled before they commit to the Peace Pact.

General Mosquito, in a meeting with the Peace Council on August 21, 2024, presented six conditions that the NDC insists must be met before signing the Peace Pact. Notable among these conditions was the full implementation of the Ayawaso Commission’s recommendations.

The party also demanded the prosecution of those responsible for the killings during the 2020 election.

According to Mr. Nketiah, over one million illegal ballot papers were printed to stuff the ballot boxes in the Ashanti Region during the 2020 elections. However, the suspected culprits were arrested but later released. The party is demanding the prosecution of those involved in the illegal printing of ballot papers.

The NDC is also demanding a transparent and honest public explanation regarding the missing equipment at the Electoral Commission’s office. According to them, the explanation must be satisfactory to the general public. They also called on the President to make a public declaration that he will accept the results of the 2024 general elections.

Lastly, the NDC is insisting that the Peace Council ensures that the signatures of the President, Chief Justice, Attorney General, and the Inspector General of Police are on the document before they sign the Peace Pact.
