The Gomoa East Constituency, a chapter of the National Democratic Congress in the Central Region over the weekend inaugurated various committees to help the party win power in the upcoming 2020 elections
In attendance were party stalwarts such as the First National Vice Chairperson of the NDC Hon. Shirley Aryeetey who was the Chairperson for the occasion,Hon Queenstar Pokua Sawyer MP for Agona East and former Deputy Central Regional Minister, former MP for Gomoa East Hon Ekow Okyere Panyin, Regional executives of the party led by Lawyer EKT Addo, Constituency executives from other constituencies, Gomoa East NDC MP hopefuls, Committee members and party faithfuls across the Central Region and numerous members of the general public.
While addressing the occasion Hon Ekow Panyin who has been the only MP who has held the seat for two consecutive terms enumerated the abysmal performance of the current NPP MP and his government which has retarded the development of Gomoa East and charged all members to work hard to unseat the incompetent MP and his government come 2020.
On her part, Hon Shirley Aryeetey did not mince words in criticizing the NPP administration for failing to deliver development and economic emancipation to the people of Ghana as they preached during the 2016 campaign. She held the view that this supper incompetent NPP government has rather brought untold hardships to worsen the plight of Ghanaians through its several bad policies and programs of which Gomoa East is no exception. She charged all members to work hard until this super incompetent government is flatly defeated come 2020.
The Regional executives led by Lawyer EKT Addo also took turns to motivate party members and executives to work hard, show commitment and dedication towards party activities to make sure the corruption-laden NPP government is thrown out of power come 2020.
The constituency executives and the committee members of Gomoa East led by Chairman Anthony Effisah declared their readiness in winning back the seat from the incompetent NPP MP and securing victory for the NDC in 2020.
Some of the committees inaugurated include, Organizing committee, Finance and Logistics committee, Youth working committee, Communication committee, Women working committee, Research committee among others.
The occasion was also used to raise funds to support party activities in the constituency.
