NDC declares 3-day mourning in honour of Dr. Kwabena Adjei

The National Democratic Congress has set three days aside to mourn late former National Chairman of the party.

Dr. Kwabena Adjei was confirmed dead at age 76 at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital Tuesday morning.

The NDC in a statement signed by General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia expressed their heartfelt sorrow and directed that all party activities be suspended and the flag “fly at half mask in honor of the late Chairman.

NDC MOURNS THE PASSING OF FORMER CHAIRMAN DR. KWABENA ADJEI

The National Democratic Congress announces with a heavy heart and deep sorrow, the sudden passing of our Former National Chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei, whose departure occurred at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after a shot illness in the early hours Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Dr. Kwabena Adjei until his passing was a member of the Council of Elders of the party, a Former Member of Parliament for Biakoye Constituency, a Former PNDC Deputy Secretary for Volta Region and Former PNDC Deputy Secretary for Industries, Science & Technology. He also served as a Former Minister for Lands & Forestry, Former Minister for Food & Agriculture and Former Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the 4th Republic.

The Functional Executive Committee has declared three (3) days of mourning in memory of our Former Leader. During this period all party flags should fly at half-mast and all party activities suspended.

As a consequence, the NEC Meeting and the Induction Ceremony of the Flagbearer scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday 13th March, 2019 has been postponed and a new date will be communicated in due course.

On behalf of the party, the Functional Executive Committee takes this opportunity to convey our deepest and heartfelt condolence to the family of Dr. Kwabena Adjei. May his gentle soul Rest in Perfect Peace.
