The National Executives of the NDC has assured the people of Amenfi Central in resolving the disqualification of Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe as parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central.
In a press release from the Communications Secretariat of Amenfi central, it states, “I can assure all of you that we have reached out to the National Executives of the party on the matter and the National Executives have assured us of their commitment and support to resolving the issues with the Electoral Commission as soon as possible”.
This comes after a letter addressed to the NDC PC dated October 10, emphasized that “The Commission’s attention has been drawn to an Order for Interlocutory Injunction dated 31st May, 2024 in respect of a suit entitled Gyedu Frimpong & 4 Others Vrs Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the National Democratic Congress & the Electoral Commission (Suit No. E12/36/24) by the High Court, Sekondi.
“It is ordered that until the final determination of the matter, the affected parties are restrained as follows:
a) The 1st Defendant/Respondent for holding herself out as the duly elected NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Amenfi Central Constituency.
b) The 2nd and 3rd Defendants/Respondents, their agents and officers for holding out, allowing the 1st Defendant/Respondent to be held out, dealt with in any way, recognized or afforded any rights or privileges as the duly elected NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Amenfi Central Constituency.
The said Order has neither been stayed nor vacated hence the Commission is bound by same”.
The EC concluded that “In this regard, we write to inform you that you have been disqualified from standing as a candidate for election to Parliament in your Constituency”.

I want to take a moment to address the recent Electoral Commission press release on the disqualification of our Hardworking Parliamentary Candidate for the good people of Amenfi central Constituency, Madam Joana Gyan Cudjoe.
I understand this outcome may be disappointing and emotionally challenging for many of us.
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support throughout this journey. Your dedication, encouragement, and trust in our Parliamentary Candidate is something we do not take for granted.
I write to inform all of you that the Constituency Executives do not, will not and shall not accept the decision of the Electoral commission.
