NDC and NPP are the same crop of thieves – Educate Africa Institute director

The Guidance and Counseling Director at the Educate Africa Institute (EAI), Mr. Anthony Cobbinah, has stated that for Ghana to transform and develop, it requires a leader with a transformational agenda to steer the affairs of the nation for rapid development.

According to him, the transformational leader would bring togetherness to the fore and change the political status quo by moving Ghana beyond the duopoly of the country’s two main political parties, the NDC and the NPP.

He claimed that the country’s corrupt system is the blueprint of the same two political parties and that the country’s problems and economic woes would persist if the same crop of leaders from both parties managed the state’s affairs.

Mr. Cobbinah revealed that many political actors have commenced speaking the language of non-partisan candidates, which vividly shows that it would only take such leaders to bring the good fortunes of the country back on track.

In his press release, he said that while leaders of many countries quickly follow national policies to improve the quality of life of their citizens after elections, Ghanaian politicians only think about milking the state to enrich themselves and their families at the expense of the already suffering masses.

Let’s vote for leaders and not schemers or political charlatans who try to gain from the citizenry,” he added.

EAI RELEASE

Must Ghana Still Choose Between A Thief and An Armed Robber As President?- Anthony Cobbinah, EAI

The introduction of the 1992 constitution of Ghana mandates all persons age 18 and beyond who are of sound mind to choose a leader for an office of the president and parliament respectively. A term not exceeding four years or a second term for the office of the president amounting to exactly eight years. However, parliamentarians have no stipulated number of terms in office, on the contrary, as long as he wins the trust of his people and be declared by supposed neutral body, the electoral commission.

An admissible and entrenched fact has not only been the noted bloody, assaultive and imposition of a candidate to contest in elections outside the will of the people but also the countless accusations of vote buying, rigging, and the like. Even though, the sovereign power must reside with the people to make the right choice without influencing the practice of democracy in every country as highlighted by our constitution in the shadow of the famous 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln who coined the practice as; “Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.” Are they really for the people? The sad reality in Ghana now is how we are gradually waking up to seeing that, “The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them”- Karl Marx. The ideal, non-bootlicking, and soul-sound-minded African thinks today’s democracy is a prank, yes, deceptive.

Educate Africa Institute can not still elucidate why almost total wickedness is always voted into power in Ghana. Why are we gradually becoming extremely unpatriotic by enthroning selfishness and exploitation in the corridors of power? Does the line in our national anthem “And help us to resist oppressors rule” have any bearing on this effect? Why have we turned to oppress ourselves more than our slave masters? Why have we suddenly become insensitive to the plight of the vulnerable and the country at large?

In recent times, the debate has evolved from candid service to either which among the two leading political parties (NPP/NDC) emptied or completely stole the public purse. What a drama in grey heads! It’s not funny anymore. None is better until we do away with this truth. The thievery, robbery, and their open endorsement hang a path potentially higher in height for the reason that, lead councils of impunity and their cohorts are not made to bear the consequences of their actions.

While leaders of many countries quickly follow national policies to improve the quality of life of the citizens after elections, in my country (Ghana), we have politicians who go on thanksgiving services from one religious organisation to the other, just to accept long tales of congratulatory messages and then go on grabbing sprew after service or start devising the next evil strategy to win the next elections. Unfortunately, almost the rest of their term in office is to tell us how the successive governments failed, yet least to say about the positive developments they’ve contributed as an incumbent. The oppositions never stopped at keeping us in a state of dilemma. Who puts the other on toes when both sides are in bed to make gains from the polished evil “embezzlement”?

EAI sees danger looming ahead. Stop influencing voters’ choices. Let’s vote for leaders and not a schemer who tries to gain an advantage over us. Remember, no politician truly has your interest at heart. Only true leaders do. Most people do change with power, yet true illustrious sons of the land will have no rational motive of being the source of pain and agony of their motherland.

Let’s vote for those who walk the talk from the advent and not when we are already bruised, weary, and worn out in hardship. Let’s rather have someone who will add to the purse and not those who will either steal the entire purse or make loot from it.

Fellow Ghanaians, do not allow oppression in any form. Be liberated now!
