A dramatic incident unfolded in Parliament on Tuesday, involving Dr. Stephen Amoah, aka Sticka, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso Constituency, and Ralph St. Williams, an NDC activist.

Ralph, who led a demonstration on galamsey against the Akufo-Addo government, was arrested on Tuesday for stalking and attacking Dr. Amoah.

According to Dr. Stephen Amoah, the incident began on Tuesday when Ralph verbally attacked him on his way to Parliament ahead of the Budget Presentation.

“He just met me and was attacking me verbally, closely. I didn’t mind him,” Dr. Amoah explained in an interview.

He expressed concern about his safety, saying, “Somebody you don’t know. If he had meant to do something bad to me, he would have done it before they even came in.”

The MP granted an interview to the media to explain his side of the story.

While the interview was ongoing, the NDC guy ambushed him with a camera recording him, which infuriated the MP to call on the Marshalls at the Parliament to whiskey him away to the Police Station on the Premises.

Dr. Amoah suspects that Ralph’s actions may be deliberate and orchestrated by someone else.

He said, “Maybe what he wants to do is to burn my position. He wants me to misbehave so that he captures that.”

Dr. Amoah expressed his concerns about the incident, stating, “I have never met him. You feel safe? Safe? Oh my God. Boss, there is God. I have God and I’m not somebody you can walk over.”

He also revealed that his 100-year-old mother had received threatening calls, which he believed were connected to the incident.

“Already, my 100-year-old mother, she says she’s been receiving calls at least twice. Late in the night, people were saying that she doesn’t talk to me,” Dr. Amoah said.

The MP noted that he decided to report the matter to the police, citing the danger posed by Ralph’s actions.

In a separate statement, Ralph St. Williams, the NDC activist, claimed that Dr. Amoah was being dishonest about the incident.
Ralph alleged that Dr. Amoah was trying to divert attention from the real issues facing the country, such as the government’s handling of the economy.

He stated, “My problem is that this man actually deceived Ghanaians by crying on air for Ghanaians to know that Ghana is actually collapsing.”

Ralph also criticized Dr. Amoah’s tenure as a deputy minister of finance, saying, “He became a deputy minister of finance. Was he not in this country? But his government was voted out. Is that not enough?”

The activist argued that Dr. Amoah lacks the moral authority to speak about the country’s economic challenges.
