It is a disgrace and an insult for a minister of state who is paid with my tax to direct students to defeacate in black polythene bag if they don’t have toilet facilities in their schools
With a heavy heart am I writing this article this evening.
It’s indeed a very sad day for Ghana.
A sad day for Ghana because after 60 years of independence our schools have [ads1]to be closed down under NPP government by the sanitation court of the land because they have no toilet facilities and all our Minister of Education could do was to direct the students to get black polythene bags and ”shit” in it and later find a place to drop it.
It is a sad day because our Education minister is a medical doctor who knows the health implications of what he has directed the students to do.
It is a sad day, a sad day because our Education Minister has disagree with our President who said he has a vision of making Ghana the cleanest country in Africa.
It is indeed a sad day, a sad day because our Education Minister knew very well that the government has policy which is currently before cabinet to ban the usage of polythene bags because of it’s hazardous effects on our lands but our minister has disregarded the presidential directive and rather encouraged the students to use the polythene bags as their latrine.
No wonder the Minister said on a live TV show (GH ONE state of affairs) that he is not competent for the job as Education Minister because he knew nothing about Education meaning he is just doing try and error as a Minister. No wonder he is a trainee Minister as ascribed by Hon. Joyce Bawa.
This was the same Minister who insulted, the first female Vice Chancellor in Ghana and Africa’s most respected Education Minister who has distinguished herself as Africa’s best Education Minister with numerous achievements including establishing over 150 modern Senior High Schools from a scratch including toilets facilities.
A record no Education Minister worldwide has thought of even giving a trial.
NAPO has really lowered the standard of the Education Ministry to a level of advising students who complain of unavailability toilet facilities in their schools to go and buy black polythene bag, defeacate in it and throw it wherever they can.
NAPO as the Education Minister and a medical Doctor by profession should have been the first person to be very worried about the issues of the unavailability of toilet facilities in our schools because of the health challenge it might result to rather than making statements that sounds insulting to the students populace.
Just for curiosity sake, will NAPO ever asked his children to use the polythene as WC?
NPP as a party has soon forgotten of the hand the that fed them, they have forgotten that those who helped them to climb the ladder to the top are still alive holding the ladder for their safety and have changed their mind to make them fall come 2020.
Instead of the NPP finding solutions to the numerous challenges confronting us, they are rather making fun and insulting us because they are not feeling the heat in the country.
NPP and NAPO should note that 2020 is just around the conner and Ghana will surely decide.
Victory for the NDC in 2020 is possible but it’s just a matter of time.
