The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a key suspect in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
On Thursday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a special NACOC team apprehended Mr. Geoffrey Agbi at his private office inside a gym located at the Spirit Filling Station in Kuntunse, near Amasaman.
A press release issued by NACOC on Friday, May 31, confirmed the arrest and revealed that several substances suspected to be illicit drugs were retrieved from the office. Mr. Agbi is currently in custody and assisting with further investigations.
This arrest follows a previous raid on April 14, when NACOC, acting on intelligence, stormed four chain stores including a pub, boutique, salon, and gym, within the same Spirit Filling Station complex. That operation led to the arrest of five individuals, including gym instructors Mr. Elvis Owusu Y,d Mr. Joseph Godsway, a Nigerian national. Both were employees of Korea Gym, the same facility where Agbi was later arrested.
At the time of the initial raid, Agbi managed to flee and was placed on NACOC’s wanted list. Surveillance efforts since then showed he had resumed operations by recruiting new accomplices to continue the illicit drug trade at the gym.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow as they dismantle the drug network operating in the area.
