The medical screening was sponsored by the Assemblies of God Church, Doryumu and benevolent… The medical screening involved were hepatitis B, Blood pressure monitoring, sugar checking, cholesterol and pelvic scans.

Dr. Bernice Borteley Bormai, a senior Medical officer and founder of the foundation was impressed with the turn out of the event.

According to the Medical Doctor, she adopted the community when she visited Dr. Nyarkotey during the death of his father and decided to do something for the community. ” my long awaited dream is to help and transformed communities by giving back to society and my heart is at peace now due to this charitable project i have embarked on”. She said.

According to her, out of over 400 who screened for hepatitis B, now proved positive. However, she realized that, their major concern in the community had to do with their low haemoglobin level.

Dr. Naa, called on the government to help establish a community health facility to help the people. She further called on organizations and philanthropists to help support her organization. She planned to do a similar project during the Homowo festival in Nungua.

She was supported by a specialist gynaecologist, Dr. Theophilus Tay of King David Medical Centre, who provided gynaecological services to the people and also Naturopathic Medical students from Nyarkotey college of Holistic Medicine, Tema community 7.

The Naa Teley foundation, founded in 2019 has a simple mission to provide health outreach, advocacy program and medical education to deprived communities.. It also has a mission to provide mentorship programs to the youth in these areas.
