Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy-Agyaponghas said that his friend in the National Democratic Congress, Collins Dauda told him that the NDC rigged the 2012 elections.
The New-Patriotic-Party(NPP) lost the 2012 election to John Dramni Mahama who was then seeking a first term as the President of Ghana.
Nana Akufo-Addo the then flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) led his party to challenge the results of the election at the Supreme Court of the land; a verdict which went in the favor of John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.
But speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Kennedy Agyapong who was talking about the diabolical nature of the NDC said he has evidence to the effect that the NDC rigged 2012 elections because his good friend, Collins Dauda told him that’s what they will do.
“Collins Dauda is my good friend and he told me point blank that they will rig the election in 2012. He said all the noise we are making was pointless because they were going to win the election with ease and true to his word, they won. So we can’t trust the old voters’ register.”
He said the National Democratic Congress connived with STL; the company that handled data and other Information Technology issues for the Electoral Commission and therefore bloated the electoral roll by 1.5 million votes.
“The Israelis who helped compile the existing register cannot be trusted so it has to be changed. The old register is bloated by 1.5 million votes and I’ve evidence to that effect.”
He said this gave the NDC and an upper hand in the voting process because before the country started voting they will be leading by 1.5 million votes.
The Electoral Commission of Ghana has insisted that it will compile a new voters’ register as Ghana laces her boot ahead of 2020 elections. This decision by the EC has been vehemently opposed by the National Democratic Congress.
