Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has called for a restrained and thoughtful celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, encouraging Muslims in Ghana and around the world to focus on charity and supporting those in need.

In a message shared across social media platforms, Minister Mubarak emphasized the need for Muslims to celebrate the occasion in moderation, reflecting on the values of peace, unity, and generosity that Islam upholds.

He also reminded the public to be considerate of the economic hardships many families are facing, which may hinder their ability to fully participate in the festivities.

“Let us celebrate this blessed occasion with moderation, keeping in mind those less fortunate,” Mubarak said. “Islam teaches us not only peace and unity but also the importance of helping our neighbors, regardless of their faith. We must avoid actions that could disrupt public peace or cause harm during this time of celebration.”

The minister’s comments come at a time when the country’s economic challenges have made it difficult for many to engage in the usual Eid celebrations, further highlighting the significance of kindness and generosity in supporting the less fortunate.

Muntaka Mubarak also called on Muslims to remember the true essence of Eid, which is rooted in spiritual reflection, gratitude, and the strengthening of community ties.

As the holy month of Ramadan concludes, he urged the public to offer prayers for good health, wisdom, and a commitment to honest and diligent work.

“It is my prayer that Allah grants us good health, wisdom, and understanding, so we may work diligently and truthfully. May this Eid bring blessings and may we continue to celebrate many more in the future,” he concluded.
