The semi-final matches dubbed “Super Sunday” for the 2016/17 MTN FA Cup comes off this weekend at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium with all the four clubs eyeing the prize money of GH¢ 50,000.
The clubs will have to go pass this stage with only two getting a shot at the prize money.
[ads1]Hearts of Oak, Wa All Stars, Asante Kotoko and Medeama are the teams that have progressed to this stage of the competition.
Hearts defeated Danbort by 1-0 to reach the quarter finals, whilst Wa All Stars kicked out Berekum Chelsea to progress to the last four.
Asante Kotoko eliminated division one side Nea Salamani whilst Medeama kicked out Amidaus Professionals to reach the semi-finals.
Each of the four teams will receive an amount GH¢7, 000 plus GH¢1,000 air time at this stage.
Hearts of Oak will take on Wa All Stars in the first game of the day, whilst Kotoko play Medeama in a repeat of the 2015 finals at the Essipong Sports stadium.
Asante Kotoko will be hoping to revenge their 2-1 defeat to the Mauve and Yellow, whilst Medeama will be looking forward to their third FA Cup title if they are able to clear this hurdle against the Porcupine Warriors.
The winner of this tournament will represent Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup, and will be given GH¢100, 000 for adequate preparation.
Should Hearts, Kotoko progress at this stage to meet in the finals it will be their sixth meeting in this season.
