Former First Lady Lordina Mahama is currently in the Bono East Region. She started her tour of the region on Wednesday 17th January 2024.
Her first point of contact was with the chiefs and elders of Jema, the District Capital of Kintampo South, as well as Ampoma, where she provided water pumps and financial support for the repair of their broken-down water systems.
She also met with National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency executives from all of the region’s 11 constituencies. The goal of the meeting is to wish them a Happy New Year and to encourage them to work together to win the 2024 general elections. Addressing the executives, she emphasized the importance of unity. She stated that unless the party is united, the NDC will not win the upcoming general elections.
Mrs. Mahama urged all party executives to put aside their disagreements and work together for success and victory because Ghanaians expect the NDC to come and turn the country’s fortunes around for the benefit of all.
Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, MP for Techiman North, expressed gratitude to the former first lady on behalf of the region’s Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Candidates. She assured Mrs. Mahama that, the region will work hard to secure all 11 parliamentary seats in the Bono East Region for the NDC in the December polls. She encouraged party officials to let go of any misunderstandings in the interest of the party, stating that without unity, winning in the 2024 general elections would be difficult.
For his part, the party’s Bono East Regional Chairman, Mr. Unas Owusu, also known as Chairman Unasco, asked the former first lady to tell former President Mahama to be assured that the party will win all 11 parliamentary seats in the region come December 7, 2024.
