Mohamed Salah is reportedly so determined to stay at Liverpool beyond this season that he has not engaged in talks with any other clubs about a free transfer, according to reports from France.
His current contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, but negotiations for an extension have made little progress, despite Salah’s public efforts to pressure the club into improving their offer.
Salah has recently hinted at his potential exit by speaking about his time at Anfield in the past tense, even admitting to feeling “more out than in” due to the stalled talks.
While clubs like Al Hilal, Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich have expressed interest, Salah’s focus remains solely on securing a new deal with Liverpool. French publication Telefoot reports that he is not currently speaking to any other clubs about a move.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has emphasized that the club’s desire to keep Salah is clear, but negotiations have been complicated, partly due to concerns over offering a significant financial commitment as Salah nears his 33rd birthday.
This has caused frustration among fans, who have witnessed some of the best performances of Salah’s career this season. With 30 goals and 22 assists from just 39 games, Salah is in contention for the Ballon d’Or and is on track to break the Premier League’s single-season assist record.
