Mobile money transactions in Ghana reached a record GHC365.0 billion in April 2025, according to new data from the Bank of Ghana. This marks a 3.8% increase from GHC351.7 billion in March and is the highest monthly value recorded so far this year.
Transaction volumes also rose, growing from 764 million in March to 778 million in April. The jump reflects growing trust in mobile platforms for everyday and business payments.
Rising smartphone use, a wider agent network, and user-friendly services continue to drive mobile money adoption. The sector remains key to boosting financial inclusion and supporting Ghana’s digital economy.
Analysts expect this growth to continue, fueled by strong demand and favorable regulations.
