In their petition dated August 12, 2024, the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, stated that, as law-abiding citizens, they intend to conduct the demonstration peacefully, as they did with the initial #OccupyBoG demonstration.

The Minority indicated that their previous communications with the police had not been replied to; however, they remain committed to pursuing their demands for the resignation of the leadership of the Bank of Ghana in accordance with the law.

Portions of the letter read “In view of the foregoing, the Minority kindly requests a meeting with the Police at a venue and time of your choice, to consider the modalities for our demonstration against the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and his deputies”.
