Ghanaian rapper Medikal has boldly declared that no rapper in Ghana, Africa, or beyond measures up to him.

In a fiery tweet posted on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, he warned social media users against drawing comparisons between him and any other artist, claiming that such remarks undermine his talent and achievements.

“Make una never compare me to any rapper for Ghana, Africa and beyond, nobody be my mate!” he tweeted in pidgin, emphasizing his position in the rap hierarchy.

He further expressed frustration at being compared even with fellow Ghanaian artist Kwesi Arthur.

“Never ever compare me to any artiste, not Kwesi Arthur or anyone. Don’t even dare, are you guys fukn mad?” he added.

Medikal’s comments appear to coincide with the release of his new music video, Welcome to Africa, possibly serving as a strategy to boost its promotion.

The rapper’s bold claims sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans praised his confidence, others felt he was overstating his impact.

“You’re not there yet bro; you have the potential, you just need a little branding and sauce,” one user commented.

Another tweeted, “Cause you don’t even have a mate… you aren’t even there yet.”

Still, many loyal supporters stood by him. “Topper top!! Too stubborn,” a fan wrote.

“True true, ebi true oh cuz I always enjoy when listening to Medikal,” another added.

Despite his current stance, Medikal and Kwesi Arthur have enjoyed a history of collaboration, working together on hit tracks like Grind Day Remix and Different, which won them acclaim in Ghana’s music scene.
