Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has advised Jadon Sancho to be more aggressive in front of goal, emphasizing that the Manchester United loanee must improve his attacking output.
Sancho has managed just two goals in 28 appearances for Chelsea this season, raising doubts over whether the Blues will activate his £25m buyout clause or send him back to Old Trafford.
When questioned about Sancho’s performances, Maresca acknowledged, “He could do better, no doubt,” and encouraged the winger to take more shots.
“Jadon could shoot much more,” Maresca said ahead of Chelsea’s London derby against Tottenham. “We’ve invited him many times to do so. Hopefully, he’s going to shoot more from now on.”
Sancho has taken just 18 shots in 23 Premier League appearances, significantly fewer than many of his teammates. However, Chelsea’s attacking burden won’t rest solely on him, with Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson set to return for the crucial Spurs clash.
