Former Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation Nana Akomea has strongly criticized the Mahama-led government for failing to live up to its promise of resetting Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, he said the National Democratic Congress had misled Ghanaians by claiming to be different but ending up repeating the same governance style it once attacked.
Akomea pointed out that the NDC campaigned against the NPP for running a family and friends government but has adopted the same approach after winning power. He argued that this has caused many Ghanaians to lose faith in democracy.
He also expressed concern about the leadership at the Bank of Ghana where the Governor still serves as Board Chairman.
According to him, this structure was previously criticized by the NDC yet remains unchanged under Mahama’s leadership. He said if the reset agenda was genuine such outdated arrangements should have been reformed.
Akomea further condemned the alleged use of security forces to intimidate citizens and urged the government to take meaningful steps to end the conflict in Bawku.
He believes the NDC has failed to offer a credible alternative and called on them to show real commitment if they intend to move the country forward.
