James Agyenim Boateng claimed that John Mahama’s message addressed specific issues that confronted members of the party in the various constituencies and areas they visited.

The messages in his estimation were precise and clear and communicated ideas and values of the party which made the grassroots feel was the best ahead of the 2020 elections.

“I think that what really worked was the fact that Mr Mahama was right on message He was clear on the issues he wanted to raise and he raised them as best as he could in the most audible and clear way that he could resonate with delegates. Again he did not have a one-fit-all campaign message for all delegates. He had some issues that he wanted all delegates to know about and based on regions, constituencies, he knows what the issues were so he spoke to those issues” the spokesperson of the former President said in an interview on Monday.

James Agyenim-Boateng touted Former President Mahama’s ability to unify the party ahead of the 2020 elections.

Hyping the Former President’s credentials, the spokesperson detailed, “most importantly is the fact that he is a unifier, everybody knows that. He exudes unity. It resonates in his messaging and he took huge advantage of that.”

James Agyenim-Boateng, however, took time to clarify issues surrounding accusations of vote buying levelled against John Mahama insisting that the team did no such thing.

He maintained the Former President’s commitment to ensuring a strengthening of the democratic development of the party and the nation.

Former President Mahama beat competition from Prof Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Sylvester Mensah, Goosie Tanoh and Nurudeen Iddrisu to emerge as flagbearer of the party after Saturday’s primaries.

The decision was made by about 300,000 delegates who took part in the primaries across all 276 constituencies.

John Mahama’s was overwhelmingly elected flagbearer securing over 95% representing about 213,443 votes.
