The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Henry Nana Boakye has chastized the main opposition flagbearer, John Mahama over his recent comment that the Electoral Commission is plotting to rig the 2024 election for the NPP.

Mahama recently called out the EC chairpersons over what he termed a grand scheme to rig the election after the EC issued a directive preventing political party agents from monitoring the proxy and voter transfer.

Nana B referenced a comment by John Mahama in 2016 in which he praised the Electoral Commission as one of the best in the country while casting away the NPP’s fears that the EC would rig for the incumbent.

“Folks this is what H.E. Former President Mahama said on November 18, 2016 at Funsi, Wa East. ‘Some of them have gone to the extent of saying the Electoral Commission is preparing to rig the elections for John Mahama. What absurd nonsense? Ghana’s Electoral system is one of the best in the world. Note my words, not in Africa, in the world because it has inherent instruments for guaranteeing its integrity,” Nana B quoted Mahama.

He added that “every well-meaning Ghanaian can conclude that Frm Prez Mahama’s wild and unfounded allegations regarding a certain agenda by the EC to rig the 2024 election in favour of NPP is an ABSURD NONSENSE.”
