“I’m delighted that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has committed to completing what President Akufo-Addo started,” Mr. Gbande remarked.

“Upon completion, the Agenda 111 project will not only be credited to President Akufo-Addo but will serve the entire nation,” he added.

Mr. Gbande underscored the pressing need for hospitals in rural areas, citing his own village as an example, which currently lacks a healthcare facility.

“If we complete the Agenda 111 hospitals, they will provide essential medical care to our people. We must depoliticize discussions surrounding medical care,” he urged.

The Agenda 111 project aims to design, procure, construct, equip, and commission 101 District Hospitals, 6 Regional Hospitals, and other healthcare facilities nationwide, ensuring Ghanaians have access to quality healthcare services.

Mr. Gbande also questioned the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) timing in making Agenda 111 a political debate, arguing that the previous administration had ample time to prioritize healthcare.

“Why did the NPP wait eight years to initiate this conversation?” Mr. Gbande asked, highlighting the need for prompt action to address Ghana’s healthcare needs.
