Former President John Mahama has issued a stern warning to the Electoral Commission (EC), urging them to “sit up” and “wake up” to avoid any confusion on Election Day.
Addressing party supporters during a campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emphasized the need for the EC to be vigilant and proactive to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
He stressed that any lapses on the part of the commission could lead to chaos and disputes on Election Day. The former President’s comments come amid growing concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.
The NDC has called on the EC to ensure accurate and transparent voter registration and verification. The party further urged the commission to address any irregularities in the voters’ register.
In addition, the opposition entreated the electoral body to organize training for polling station agents and to ensure adequate security and logistics on Election Day.
