President Mahama sets up a five-member Committee to probe petitions against Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Torkonoo as she is suspended pending outcome of inquiry.

This development marks a significant turn in Ghana’s judicial and political landscape, as constitutional consultations by President John Mahama regarding the petition seeking the removal of the Chief Justice have riched its second phase.

Member of the Commitee are Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, a Supreme Court Justice who is serving as the Chairman of the Commitee. Other members of the Commitee includes; Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, Justice of the Supreme Court; Mr. Daniel Yaw Dormelevo the former Auditor-General; Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo of the Ghana Amred Forces and Prof. James Sefah Dzisah, Associate Professor of the University of Ghana.
