In a significant show of support for education in the Islamic community, former President John Mahama has presented a 7-seater vehicle to the Islamic Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES). The handing over of the vehicle took place in Tamale, as part of Mahama’s campaign tour of the Northern Region.

The vehicle was received by Abdul Karim Bapuni, General Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, who expressed gratitude for the timely donation. “This gesture will greatly enhance our mobility and our ability to engage more effectively with educational initiatives across the country”, Bapuni stated during the ceremony.

Earlier this week, during the National Muslim Conference held in Accra, the former President also presented a vehicle to the National Chief Imam for the Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund of Ghana, reinforcing his dedication to uplifting the Islamic education framework and charitable organisations in the country.

In addition to these contributions, Mahama showed his commitment to media outreach by distributing motorbikes to support the operations of five Hausa language radio stations in Accra. These radio stations play a crucial role in facilitating communication and fostering community engagement among the Hausa-speaking populace.

As Mahama continues his campaign in the Northern Region, these initiatives underline his focus on education, community support, and ensuring that diverse voices are heard across the country.
