Former president John Dramani Mahama who doubles as the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress reaffirmed his decision to pay the collapsed gold dealership firm Menzgold customers.
The flagbearer initially hinted his decision at the campaign lunch of his party at Tarkwa – Nsuaem on Tuesday, he said the next NDC government will use all legitimate means to retrieve locked up funds for customers of the gold dealership firm Menzgold.
However two weeks after the campaign lunch a press statement has been released yesterday 21st October 2020 from the office of the flagbearer reiterating Mr. John Mahama’s commitment to investigate the Menzgold saga and resettle customers of their funds. In the press statement issued by the NDC campaign spokesperson James Agyenim Boateng noted that the Nana Akuffo Addo led government made no significant effort to retrieve the customers money .
It could be recalled that government government gave NAM1 police protection when some of his customers besieged his house to demand their money. The NDC flagbearer in conclusion fumed ” what is so special about NAM1 that Akuffo Addo is shielding him? Why do you unleash the police on innocent customers while NAM1 walks free,”. However the press statement has received a glorious welcome from the customers of the firm and indicating their zeal to vote massively for the NDC party.
