Ex-President John Dramani Mahama will officially disclose his intent to lead the National Democratic Congress into the 2020 general elections today.
This, he will be doing, by presenting a letter of intent at the party’s headquarters later this morning.
[ads1]In an invitation sent out by his office to the media, it said: “President John Dramani Mahama will at 10.30am today, Thursday August 23, 2018, submit to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) his letter of intent to contest the upcoming NDC Presidential Primaries. You are kindly invited to the NDC Headquarters where the presentation of the letter will take place at 10.30am this morning.”
Though it was highly anticipated that Mahama will contest, he left the decision a little late as most of the contenders have started their campaigns in earnest.
He will join a lineup of aspirants that includes the Nadowli Kaleo MP, Alban Bagbin, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah; a former Trade and Industry Minister; Former Vice Chancellor of the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi and Cape Coast South MP, and Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, who have declared their intent to contest for the slot.
