The Minerals Commission CEO Martin Ayisi has revealed that the erstwhile Mahama led administration issued more small scale mining license than the current Nana Addo led government.

He added there 984 licenses active following their renewal.

According to him, the licenses issued under the former president have contributed to the decade illegal mining has caused.

However he added that failure to issue licenses to miners now could lead to a move that will exacerbate the activities of illegal mining.
