The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), formerly BNI has invited Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for questioning over corruption allegations leveled against President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the invitation letter, Abronye is required to meet the Director of Investigations of the NIB on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 1000 hours at Kawukudu in the Greater Accra Region.

The meeting aims to investigate allegations made by Abronye during an interview on “Movement in the Morning,” a breakfast show on Movement TV hosted by Kwaku Dawuro.

During the interview, Abronye alleged that President Mahama is hoarding GH¢550,000,000 intended for dismissed appointees at the Jubilee House.

He further accused the administration of corruption in the recruitment and revocation processes.

These allegations have sparked a heated debate, with many calling for an investigation into the matter.

It is worth noting that President Mahama’s administration has been marred by corruption scandals in the past.

During his tenure as President from 2012 to 2017, Ghana was plagued by corruption scandals that tarnished the country’s reputation and undermined public trust in the government.

The NIB’s invitation to Abronye is seen as a move to get to the bottom of the allegations and to hold those responsible accountable.

However, as the investigation unfolds, many are watching with bated breath to see how the matter will be resolved.

Abronye in reaction has confirmed to honour the invitation and explain himself to the investigative body.
