Liverpool are reportedly willing to release Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid ahead of schedule—on one condition.

The Reds are open to letting the England international leave before the Club World Cup kicks off on June 13, but only if their demands are met.

Although Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Madrid as a free agent after his Liverpool contract expires on July 1, the Spanish giants are eager to have him available in time for the FIFA Club World Cup. FIFA has approved a special early transfer window starting June 1 to allow such moves.

According to AS, Liverpool are considering the early release, provided two key conditions are fulfilled: Alexander-Arnold must waive his salary for June, and Real Madrid must pay a small transfer fee, reportedly under €1 million (£851,900). Combined, these conditions would allow Liverpool to recover over £1.5 million for a player they would otherwise lose for free just weeks later.

While the Reds haven’t completely given up on keeping their star full-back, the club is now preparing for life after Trent, following a Premier League title-winning campaign.

The temporary transfer window offers clubs until June 13 to register new players for the Club World Cup, before it closes briefly and reopens from June 16 to September 1.
