List of policies and Taxes to be canceled by president-elect John Mahama

President-elect, his excellency John Dramani Mahama promised to scrap some policies and taxes of the ruling government led by president Nana Akufo Addo.

In the run up to the 2024  general election these taxes were considered as draconian and obnoxious to Ghanaians by the president-elect. He promised to abolish these taxes if elect. The favorite to the youth is the sports 10% betting tax. The 10% withholding tax on winnings.

According, the president-elect the Covid-19 tax. The levy known as the 1% Covid-19 Health Recovery Levy on the supply of goods and services and imports to raise revenue to support government will also be abolished.

Government of Ghana sparked controversy with the introduction of Electronic Transactions Levy (E-Levy) in response to Ghana’s economic crisis. The levy is 1% of the value of the electronic transfers.

The Teacher Licensure Examination, it is a test that teachers in Ghana must pass to be recognized as a teacher.
