La Abese Mantse urges Ga Dangme youth to actively involve in politics

The Chief of La Abese, Nii Kwade Okropong I has implored Ga Dangme youth to actively participate in the country’s politics.

The La Abese Mantse said this during the 20th-anniversary celebration and the installation of a new Legon Mantse by the Ga Dangme Students Association of the University of Ghana Legon.

According to him, Ga Dangbe youth participation in national and regional representative structures in the country has been low yet the Ga Dangme youth are well educated and have the capacity to occupy political positions.

He noted that the integration of the Ga Dangme youth into mainstream politics is important, as historically Ga Dangme people in the past have demonstrated dynamism and an ability to lead societies and have effect changes for the development of Ghana.

He advised the Ga Dangme youth who may venture into politics to be honest and selfless in any position they find themselves adding that the people of Ga Dangme have a good reputation hence the need to maintain and protect that image by desisting in any form of corrupt practices.

Nii Kwade Okropong I, expressed his displeasure over disunity among the Ga Dangme people and called on the Ga Dangme Students Association to forge ahead with unity to ensure development and progress in the endeavor.

On her part, the Queen mother of La Abese, Naa Odarkai Ojarawa used the occasion to appealed to parents to place high priority in the education of their children.

She added that education is the only property that can be given to children which is more beneficial than investing in funeral clothes, parties, extravagant outdooring and think that are not necessary.

Naa Odarkai Ojarawa I, urged parents to prevent their children from watching adult movies like telenovela which have taken over our television but rather monitor them to learn and help them revise their notes.
