Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has called for transparency in the investigation of Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee.
Ntim Fordjour alleged that two aircraft landing at Kotoka International Airport were involved in drug trafficking and money laundering, claims that authorities and the Ghana Airports Company Limited have vehemently denied involvement in.
Kwakye Ofosu wants Fordjour’s interrogation to be made public to address growing concerns and provide clarity on the matter.
“I have requested that his interrogation or the questions that they will pose to him should be recorded and released to the public… For purposes of public interests and transparency, they can show it. This move aims to bring accountability to the controversy surrounding the “suspicious flights,” he said.
Fordjour’s claims have sparked intense debate, with Kwakye Ofosu accusing him of spreading false information.
“The last thing an MP should be doing is peddling such childish lies. They are not just lies; they are childish. How do you claim such things without providing a shred of evidence?” He asked
The Ghana Airports Company Limited has also refuted allegations of involvement in the scandal, citing their strict security protocols.
The outcome of this investigation may have significant implications for national security and Ghana’s aviation industry.
If Fordjour’s allegations are proven false, it could lead to further scrutiny of his claims and potential repercussions for his role in Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee.
