Kwabena Aduomi rejoins the NPP

The Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, who left the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest for the Ejisu Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate, has returned to the party.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders of the NPP, Mr. Victor Owusu Jnr., the party said Mr. Aduomi agreed to rejoin the party after ‘frank and open discussions’ with members of the council.

According to them, Mr. Aduomi would be a ‘force to be reckoned with in the Ejisu Constituency,’ adding that his presence would further strengthen the party ahead of the December polls.

“In a meeting characterised by frank and open discussions of issues that have happened in the past, Owusu Aduomi; announced to the delight of the members of the Council of Elders that, he has put everything behind him and went on to announce his return to the party unconditionally,” the Council indicated in the press release.

The Council of Elders also indicated that Mr. Aduomi has pledged to convince his supporters to rejoin the rank and file of the NPP ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders at its meeting on Monday 5th August, 2024, brokered a reconciliation with Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a member of the Party and former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways who stood as an Independent Candidate during the Ejisu By-Election.

Engineer Owusu Aduomi, respectfully responded to overtures made by the Council of Elders and honoured an invitation by the Council aimed at getting him back into the fold.

In a meeting characterised by frank and open discussions of issues that have happened in the past, Owusu Aduomi; announced to the delight of the members of the Council of Elders that, he has put everything behind him and went on to announce his return to the party unconditionally.

He emphasised that his umbilical cord is planted in NPP and that the NPP runs through the veins of his blood. Furthermore, Engineer Owusu Aduomi, pledged to talk to his supporters and bring them back to the party.

In a speech, The Chairperson of the Council of Elders, Mrs. Rosemond Appiah Menka, on behalf of the Council, thanked Owusu Aduomi, profusely for honouring the invitation of the Council and more importantly for deciding to come back to where he belongs to.

She also indicated that there is no doubt Owusu Aduomi is a force to reckon with in the Ejisu Constituency, Ashanti Region and beyond and that his coming back to the party will go a long way to bolster the fortunes of the NPP in the December 7th elections.

On his part, the Vice-Chairman of the Council of Elders Dr. Moussa Jebir Kebir, appealed to the generality of NPP members to accept the return of Owusu Aduomi wholeheartedly.
